Chetna Pande revealed that the success of Poltergeist 3D came at the end of what she describes as the “worst six months” of her life. The actress admits she’s still struggling to come to terms with the film’s reception, following a string of personal difficulties and years of rejection she faced in the industry. To add insult to injury, Chetna said her mother is currently being treated for cirrhosis of the liver, while her partner and pets have also been battling health issues. She said that with so much going on at home, her parents haven’t really been able to celebrate and enjoy the milestone with her.
Chetna Pande opens up about her difficult times
Speaking to India Today, Chetna said: “My partner was unwell, my mother was unwell and then my pet was diagnosed with a health issue. It feels like one setback after another. I almost forgot what happiness feels like. I was in so much mental pain that I felt completely broken and at my lowest. That’s why this moment feels even more special. I couldn’t believe that after going through such a difficult phase, something so beautiful could happen.“
Chetna Pande says every setback makes her stronger
She calls Haunted 3D a blessing and says its success gives her confidence that things will eventually work out. Looking back on her journey, the actress feels that every hardship she went through was worth it. “I think we as actors deal with a lot, from endless waits to rejection. And then when you see a film like this and it does so well, it feels like all of my setbacks were totally worth it. Every setback in my life that broke me made me stronger and prepared me for today. Now I feel like everything happens for the right reasons,” she said.
Chetna Pande says Haunted 3D’s success feels like a dream
The success of “Haunted 3D” is like a dream for Chetna. After years of rejection, lost opportunities, and being dropped from films even after confirmation, it meant a lot to her to see people enjoying her performance as Sunheri. “It feels unbelievable. I still can’t process it. There was a time when it wasn’t even released, so to go from there to this journey, it feels very, very special,” she said.

“Poltergeist 3D: Echoes of the Past” has crossed the Rs 20-crore mark at the box office in just 10 days. The film was released along with “Main Vaapas Aaunga”, “Governor” and “Bharat Bhagya Viddhaata”.
