Vindu Dara Singh Opened up about his previous marriage to actress and Tabu’s sister, Faranazacknowledged his father, the wrestling legend Dara Singhwarned him of the challenges facing interfaith marriage. In an interview with Kadak, Windu reflected on a piece of advice from his father that he chose not to follow. The actor stressed that he had no regrets as the marriage gave him son Fateh, but Dara Singh’s concerns turned out to be correct.
‘my father told me Hindu-Muslim marriage very difficult’
Recalling the conversation, Windu said his father was generally a man who believed in religious harmony and never discriminated against the community.“We are among those who believe that Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians – everyone is a brother. That’s always been what my father said,” Wendu shared. However, when Dara Singh expressed her desire to marry Farah Naz, a caveat was reportedly raised.“He told me, ‘Windu, one more thing. Hindu-Muslim marriages are very difficult.'”The actor recalls feeling confident that things would work out.“When I told him I wanted to marry Farah, he said, ‘It’s hard, Vindu. In the end, things often go wrong.’ I told him, ‘Dad, nothing will go wrong.’ He said, ‘Think about it. These things will eventually become difficult. “
“I have no regrets because I have Fatah”
Looking back on the past, Wendu admitted that what his father said made sense, but he emphasized that he did not regret his decision.“I have no regrets because I have Fateh, a wonderful son and I love him more than my life. But it was right.”The actor used the experience to emphasize the importance of listening to parents.“Always remember, our parents give us advice, but we don’t listen. We think, “What do they know?” But they know more than we do. They have more experience and they are your God. “He added, “We think we are very smart and know everything. But when they stop you or warn you, it’s usually a sign from God. Listen to them.”
“Religion is definitely a reason”
When asked if religion was a major factor in the breakdown of his marriage to Farah Naz, Windu gave a straightforward answer.“Absolutely. Absolutely.”The actor explained that religion was never initially a point of conflict between them.“Religion was completely normal between us. But suddenly she became very religious.”Vindu said the shift created differences that were difficult to navigate.“We’ve never had that kind of highly religious system among us. So when you suddenly become very religious, there’s a complication that happens. To me, that’s the main reason.”
Dara Singh’s message of religious unity
Interestingly, despite Windu’s warnings against interfaith marriage, his father remained a lifelong believer in religious unity. He recalled a poem written by Dara Singh before his death, praising interfaith harmony.“Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians – all are brothers,” Windu quoted from the poem. The actor said the poem emphasizes that while different spiritual leaders may take different paths, they all ultimately lead to the same destination.
“We are all one”
Vindu concluded by reaffirming the values he inherited from his father.“We are all one.”Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s slogan, he added, “As Modi said, ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’. Never try to divide us, never try to break us.” We are all one and we will always be one. “Vindu and Farah Naaz got married in 1996 and later separated. The former couple have a son, Fateh Randhawa. While acknowledging the challenges they faced, the actor said he remains grateful for the relationship and the family it has given him.
