The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission (UPSSSC) will close the registration process for the Excise Police Recruitment 2026 today (June 24). Candidates who have not applied for the recruitment drive can complete the application process through the official website upssc.gov.in.The recruitment drive is aimed at filling up 722 posts of tax police in the Uttar Pradesh Revenue Commissioner’s Office at Prayagraj. Candidates applying for the post must appear for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2025 and hold a valid PET scorecard.
Eligibility criteria
Applicants should have passed Intermediate (Class 12) or equivalent examination from Uttar Pradesh Board or any other recognized board.According to the notification, candidates should be between 18 and 40 years old as on July 1, 2026. Age relaxation will be given to reserved category candidates and eligible state government employees as per government regulations.Candidates holding NCC B Certificate and those who have served in the Territorial Army for two years will be given priority in the recruitment process.

- General: 292 posts
- Scheduled Castes (SC): 142 posts
- Scheduled Tribes (ST): 12 posts
- Other Backward Classes (OBC): 215 posts

Selection process
The selection process will take place in multiple stages. Candidates will be shortlisted first based on PET-2025 score. Shortlisted candidates will have to appear for the main written examination.Those who pass the written test will undergo a Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and a Physical Fitness Test (PET) before final selection.
