Upcoming car launches, unveiled in July 2026: Nissan Tekton, Kodiaq RS and more

July 2026 will be a busy month for the Indian automobile industry, with several launches and introductions of new cars across multiple segments. In addition, several manufacturers are likely to introduce special editions and refreshed versions of existing products as they prepare for the holiday season in the coming months. In this article, let’s take a look at the upcoming car launches and launches in July 2026.Skoda Kodiaq RSThe Skoda Kodiaq RS is the first car on the list and is expected to be launched in the coming days. The limited edition SUV quickly attracted a lot of interest from enthusiasts across the country. And all 50 units allotted for India were sold out within just six minutes of bookings opening. With all 50 units now sold out, it remains to be seen whether Skoda Auto India will allocate additional units of the Kodiaq RS for the Indian market.

Skoda Kodiaq RS

Skoda will introduce the performance SUV as a completely built unit (CBU) and is expected to be priced between Rs 50-55 lakh (ex-showroom). The new Skoda Kodiaq RS will be powered by a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder turbo gasoline engine that produces 265 hp and 400 Nm of torque. Compared to the regular Kodiaq, the RS delivers an additional 60 hp and 80 Nm of torque. Notably, the engine is tuned identically to the unit that powers the Octavia RS and Golf GTI. It comes mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.2026 Renault KwidThe next car on the list is the new 2026 Renault Kwid, which will be launched in the Indian market tomorrow. Exterior changes are likely to include redesigned front and rear bumpers, along with a new set of alloy wheels. Renault has yet to reveal cabin updates, although the hatchback is expected to get revised upholstery and a few new features. The mechanical package is likely to remain unchanged, with the 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine still producing 67PS and 91Nm. Buyers are expected to have a choice between a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT, while the CNG dealer kit is also likely to remain on offer.Nissan Tecton Next up is the Nissan Tekton, which will make its global debut on July 9, 2026. At the front, the new Nissan Tekton SUV features a wide front grille with a red horizontal stripe running across it and an illuminated Nissan logo in the middle. The SUV also gets a full-width LED DRL signature linked to the headlamp units, which include L-shaped light elements. Other exterior features include a sculpted hood with prominent character lines, a center hood and Tekton badging.

At the rear, the SUV will have a roof spoiler, a protruding windshield, connected C-shaped taillights and a large bumper. The SUV is expected to be similar in dimensions to the new Renault Duster, which measures 4,345 mm in length, 1,815 mm in width, 1,703 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,657 mm.Tekton is expected to share its engine options with the new Duster. 1.0-litre, 3-cylinder turbo petrol engine with 100 PS of power and 160 Nm of torque mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox. The second engine is a 1.3-liter, 4-cylinder, turbo petrol with 163 hp and 280 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed DCT or 6-speed manual. There’s also a larger 1.8-litre powerful hybrid petrol engine with 109bhp, paired with a 49bhp electric motor and 20bhp Hybrid Starter Generator (HSG), paired with a 1.4kWh (280V) battery. Together, this configuration delivers a combined system output of 160 PS and 172 Nm. We still don’t know what engine option will be offered with the new Tekton. Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift Next up is Maruti Suzuki Brezza facelift, which is expected to be launched sometime this month. In terms of design, the overall silhouette of the car will remain unchanged; the upcoming version could introduce noticeable revisions to its styling and equipment. In the latest spy shots, the rear of the SUV is captured. The facelifted model will have a redesigned front bumper and a refreshed grille. Similar cosmetic adjustments are expected at the rear. Interestingly, despite the growing trend of connected taillights in new SUVs, the updated Brezza is not expected to adopt this design element, according to a recently released image. Other exterior features could include newly styled 16-inch alloy wheels, sleek LED headlights with DRLs, roof rails and an integrated rear spoiler.On the mechanical side, the 2026 Brezza is expected to get minor suspension tweaks and a recent test mule was spotted with a 6-speed manual transmission, suggesting that Maruti Suzuki might introduce an extra gear over the current setup. This change is likely intended to improve the gear ratio for easier highway cruising. While there is speculation about the possibility of the 1.0-litre three-cylinder Boosterjet turbo petrol from the Maruti Suzuki Fronx making it to the Brezza, there is no official confirmation yet.Honda ZR-V Next up is the Honda ZR-V. Pre-orders for the Honda ZR-V are ongoing. Interested buyers can book the SUV online or by visiting the nearest dealership. A price announcement is expected sometime this month. The SUV will be purchased in India through the CBU route. This will push its prices higher due to import duties and related costs. The SUV is likely to cost around Rs 50 lakh (ex-showroom). When it was launched, it competed with the Volkswagen Tiguan, Skoda Kodiaq, Nissan X-Trail and more.As for the powertrain, the ZR-V will be offered with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with dual electric motors. The powerful hybrid engine produces a combined output of 184 hp and 315 Nm. It comes paired with an e-CVT automatic transmission, which sends power to the front wheels. Honda says the ZR-V can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8 seconds. It has an electronically limited top speed of 172 km/h and a claimed fuel efficiency of 22.79 kpl. In global markets, the ZR-V gets all-wheel drive (AWD) and a 1.5-liter turbo-petrol engine.In terms of design, the ZR-V has a crossover-like design with clean surfaces. At the front, it has a large grille and wide LED headlights, neatly integrated into the fascia to provide a discreet but noticeable presence. In profile, the SUV looks lower than typical models, with a sloping roofline and long wheelbase, giving it proportions closer to a raised hatchback than a conventional tall SUV.The new MG SUVNext up is the new SUV from JSW MG Motor India. The company is expected to launch the Wuling Starlight 560. A design patent for this model was filed in India in March. The SUV measures 4,745mm in length, offers three rows of seating for seven passengers and features LED headlights, LED taillights and 18-inch alloy wheels. Inside, it has a two-tone cabin, a 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, a six-speaker audio system, a 50W wireless phone charger and a panoramic sunroof.Internationally, the Starlight 560 is sold with plug-in hybrid and all-electric powertrains. The PHEV pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine with a front-mounted electric motor and a 20.5kWh battery, producing 195PS and 230Nm, with a claimed range of over 1,000km. The EV version uses a 69.2 kWh battery and a 201 hp front motor, providing a CLTC range of 530 km. It remains unclear which version will be offered in India.
