Škoda has unveiled its new flagship electric SUV, the Peak. Positioned at the top of the brand’s EV lineup, the three-row electric SUV is poised to rival premium family-focused electric models such as the Kia EV9, Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Volvo EX90 in global markets.
Skoda Peak : Design and dimensions
Built on the Volkswagen Group’s MEB+ electric vehicle platform, the Peak measures 4,874 mm in length, 1,867 mm in width and 1,664 mm in height, while its wheelbase is 2,965 mm. It provides a boot of 299 liters with all seats in place. Folding the third row increases boot capacity to 935 litres, while an additional 37-litre front boot adds extra storage space. Peak follows Skoda’s latest modern Solid design philosophy. Up front, the SUV gets a gloss-black enclosed ‘Tech Deck’ panel in place of the traditional grille, flanked by T-shaped matrix LED headlamps and a full-width light signature. Functional air vents are also incorporated into the bumper to help cool the vehicle’s electrical components. Moving to the rear, the SUV gets T-shaped LED taillights, two-tone bumper, roof spoiler and shark fin antenna. Built-in door handles and aerodynamic alloy wheels are also part of the package.
Škoda Peak: Cabin and features
Inside, the Peak has a 13.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, along with a 10-inch digital instrument cluster and a heated two-spoke Skoda-badged steering wheel. Other features include a panoramic sunroof, dual wireless smartphone chargers, USB charging ports in all three rows and a 16-speaker Sonos audio system. Skoda also introduced a digital key function for the first time, allowing owners to lock and unlock the vehicle using a smartphone or smartwatch. Higher specification versions can be additionally equipped with a head-up display, massaging front seats with electrically adjustable footrests and folding tables for rear passengers.
Škoda Peak: Powertrain
Škoda will offer the Peak in three variants. The entry-level Peak 60 uses a 63 kWh battery mated to a rear electric motor that produces 204 hp. This version offers a guaranteed driving range of 459 km and can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 8.6 seconds. The mid-spec Peak 90 comes equipped with a larger 91kWh battery and a more powerful rear-mounted engine producing 286bhp. It offers the longest claimed range in the range of 647 km and completes the 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.1 seconds. At the top of the range is the Peak 90x, which combines a 91 kWh battery with twin-motor all-wheel drive. The system generates 299 hp, helping the SUV accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 6.7 seconds. It provides a claimed range of 613 km. All variants support fast charging, and the Peak can accept DC charging speeds of up to 199 kW.
