The makers of Mirzapur: The Movie recently released the film’s first trailer, confirming that the beloved crime saga is making the jump from streaming to the big screen. The film will be released on September 4 and features iconic characters such as Kaleen Bhaiya, GuduMunna and Golu Gupta promise fans another exciting chapter in the “Mirzapur” universe.for actors Shweta TripathiHowever, stepping back into Golu’s shoes presented unexpected challenges. While the excitement of returning to the series remains, revisiting the naive characters of the first season almost a decade later is emotionally disorienting.
Reliving Golu’s past isn’t easy
Talking about the transition from web series to film in an interview with India Today, Shweta revealed that the filming process itself was not much different from shooting the previous seasons of the show. According to her, despite the move to the big screen, the acting and pacing have remained essentially the same.“The pace is not fast. In fact, the shooting time has already arrived, so whether it is acting or acting, there is no difference.”The real challenge, she explains, was traveling back in time to portray a Golu who had not yet experienced the devastating events that had transformed her over the years. After spending three seasons portraying the vengeful Golu, Shweta admits that returning to the cheerful, carefree young woman she was in season one felt overwhelming at first.“For so many years, I have been living in feelings of revenge and depression. Tiantian no longer exists, Bablu is dead; all her dreams have been taken away. And now suddenly, Tiantian is standing in front of you, and Bablu is here. Gudu is back to his original self… Not how Golu felt about him last season. “The actor admits that the emotional reset didn’t happen overnight. “The first day, I can’t tell you how confusing it was. I didn’t understand. I was confused because I didn’t know… Golu was a different girl in season one. But slowly, it all started to click right.” For Shweta, it wasn’t about memorizing dialogue, but about reconnecting with the version of Golu that existed before heartbreak, loss and revenge shaped her character.
