Tata Punch HBX revealed: What's new on the robust Punch

Tata Motors has teased the Punch HBX once again, indicating that a rugged version of its popular micro SUV could be launched soon. The adventure-focused model has resurfaced on the company’s official website and social media platforms, months after it was first unveiled earlier this year. The brand, however, has not yet announced a launch date or opened bookings.

The Punch HBX was first shown in early 2026 as a more robust version of the revamped Punch. This release focuses on visual improvements rather than mechanical upgrades.The exterior has undergone several changes to give it a rugged look. It features all-terrain tires wrapped around black 16-inch two-tone alloy wheels, chunky front and rear bumpers with Armor Guard skid plates, and accented wheel arches. Dad also added Armor Guard side panels, tinted roof and ORVMs, silver front bumper inserts, rear spoiler with air shield and roof rack. On the inside, the cabin is expected to remain unchanged from the standard Punch. The feature list will likely be carried over without any significant additions.As for the engine, this trim will use Tata’s 1.2-litre iTurbo petrol engine, which produces 120 PS of power and 170 Nm of torque, mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox.The standard Tata Punch facelift is already on sale in India at prices ranging from Rs 5.65 lakh to Rs 10.60 lakh, ex-showroom. However, the Punch HBX has so far only been presented as a concept with accessories. More details on production plans, pricing and launch timeline are expected to be revealed at a later stage.
