Kunal told IANS, “We have always been very instinctive. Fortunately, I now have a friend, a partner and a wife who understand that I am an instinctive person and so is she. As far as parenting goes, we have a little bit of experience now. She (Daaya) is nine years old this year. But we instinctively did everything we thought was right. “
Kunal Kemmu on not seeking social approval
The actor admits that their parenting choices haven’t always been universally approved of, but they’re completely happy with them. ““Kunal also stressed that neither he nor Soha were trying to project an ideal image of parenting to gain public acceptance. He added: “We never do anything thinking ‘let’s do it this way because it looks better’, or because people will think what we’re doing is right or wrong from a social perspective. As a parent, she will do what she thinks is right. I do what I think is right. “
Kunal Kemmu talks about differences
Like any couple, Kunal and Soha do have differences when it comes to parenting, though he recounts them with characteristic humour. He quipped: “Sometimes there are things that I say don’t need to be done, but as a parent, she has the right to do them. Likewise, a lot of times she will tell me that the habits I’m breaking don’t look good. She’ll say don’t give her ice cream now, but I’ll give it to her when I think it’s appropriate.”“

Soha Ali Khan comes from a Muslim background while Kunal comes from a Hindu family. Instead of letting this become a complicated issue, the couple turned it into one of Daiya’s greatest gifts.
