Prosecutors said Zubin Garg was taken on the yacht trip despite having known health problems. He reportedly suffered from epilepsy. There are also claims that he underwent alcohol treatment. Officials further said doctors advised him to avoid alcohol, contact with fire and water-related activities. Nonetheless, a yacht outing was allegedly arranged and alcoholic beverages were served. The event is associated with the North East India Festival in Singapore. The Gauhati High Court had earlier dismissed the bail plea citing prima facie evidence of his involvement in the alleged conspiracy. It was observed that insufficient safety measures were taken during the yacht trip. The court also noted concerns about witness tampering and the possibility of absconding. The high court cited nearly 394 witnesses in the case. It also said the matter was still at the charging stage.
