Yash on Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama
Reflecting on Ranbir’s approach to playing Lord Rama, Yash said, “No one in this world can say, ‘I am qualified to play Lord Rama’. The fact that he (Ranbir) said ‘I can’t do it’ says it all.”Yash went on to praise Ranbir for his commitment to the role, “He is a wonderful actor. It is not easy to play Lord Rama, and the way he really works, a huge respect to him. He is a wonderful actor. He works very hard and when you watch Ramayana, you will see a beautiful Rama with great intentions and great sacrifices.”

Yash talks about playing Ravana
Before taking to the big stage, in a conversation with Rama Screen, Yash spoke about the challenges of playing Ravana, one of the most iconic and complex antagonists in Indian mythology. He said, “Well, it’s been a pleasure. The challenging part is because it’s a story that everyone knows, and it’s a story that’s told in so many ways. A lot of people have acted in small plays in various regional languages, from a small village to television to movies. People have been playing this character. Playing it in a unique way so that it still seems real and very unique in its own way is the challenging part.”Giving a hint about what viewers can expect, Yash teased his version of Ravana, saying, “I think I’ve tried something that might get people really excited.”
Ramayana cast and release date
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama, Sai Pallavi as Sita and Yash as Ravana. The film is planned to be released in two parts, the first part will be released on Diwali 2026 and the second part will be released in 2027.
