Satish Shah’s cousin recounts grief
In an interview with Hindustan Times, his cousin Arvind Mamania, who will accept the award on his behalf, spoke of the grief that still lingers in the family. He said: “We have not yet come to terms with the shock of (his death). Seeing his wife every day always reminds us of what kind of person he was. Our home was full of laughter and laughter, and now the happiness has suddenly disappeared. It is a big vacuum.” We are taking care of her (Satish’s wife Madhu Shah) and she is precious to us too. “Explaining why he was chosen to attend the prestigious ceremony with the late actor, Arvind spoke fondly about his relationship with Shah and the circumstances that led to the decision. He added: “He was more like a brother to me and his wife was unable to travel due to health reasons and therefore could not attend the award ceremony. We hope that this honor will come sooner, while he is still alive, but in any case we cannot change what has happened. My wish is that when I accept the award on his behalf, he looks at us from above and wishes us. Once I return to Mumbai, we plan to organize a small celebration for him.”
How did Satish Shah die?
In October 2025, Satish Shah suddenly collapsed and died while having lunch at his home in Mumbai. He was immediately rushed to Hinduja Hospital where despite the best efforts of the medical team, they could not save his life. His last rites were held at Vile Parle where a large number of industry colleagues and friends gathered to pay their last respects to the much-loved actor.
