In a major development, film editor Pradeep E. Raghav has officially joined the technical team of superstar Rajinikanth’s much-anticipated 173rd film, officially titled ‘Dharman’.This high-profile performance marked the RaghavJust two months ago, he was suspended by the South Indian Film Editors Association (SIFEA) for his negligence in the massive leak of pre-release pirated copies of Tarapati Vijay’s last film Jana Nayagan.

The Film Editors Guild of South India had earlier suspended Pradeep Raghav for allegedly violating its bylaws during the production of “Jana Nayagan”. Many of his projects reportedly hired non-members as assistants, which was against their policies. The organization also added that while he was not directly involved in the film’s online distribution, he admitted that his oversight led to the issue. In response, Pradeep Raghav issued a written apology to the organization, Dinamalar reported. After reviewing his explanation, the Executive Committee decided to revoke the suspension. Association president Gopi later confirmed that the disciplinary action against him had been formally withdrawn.

‘Jana Nayagan’ leak triggers major action across the industry

The illegal leakage of “Jana Nayagan” before it was certified by CBFC became one of the biggest piracy cases in Tamil cinema. The Tamil Nadu cyber crime branch has arrested several people, including a freelance editor identified as the main accused in the case. An interim order has been passed to stop the leaked footage from being circulated on social media, other online platforms and cable television. Even though Pradeep Raghav was not involved in the leaks, the Editors Guild took his indiscretion with the leaks very seriously.
