Citroen recently launched the updated eC3X in India. This affordable electric crossover goes up against one of the best-selling electric vehicles in the country, the Tata Punch EV. Here’s a closer look at how the two EVs stack up on paper in terms of pricing, range, power specs, features and more.
Citroen eC3X vs Tata Punch EV: Battery and range
The Citroen eC3X continues with a 29.2 kWh battery mated to a front electric motor that produces 57 hp and 143 Nm of torque. The company claims a driving range of up to 320 km on a full charge, while the maximum speed is estimated at 107 km/h. The Tata Punch EV offers two battery options. The smaller 30 kWh battery provides a claimed range of around 375 km, while the larger 40 kWh battery offers up to 468 km on a full charge. The long-range version also produces significantly more power, with an output of up to 127 hp, while the smaller unit kicks out 87 hp and 154 Nm of torque.

The eC3 X’s cabin has been significantly updated with a new leather-trimmed electric blue instrument panel, along with two-tone white leather seats with blue accents. It also gets a new 7-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, connected car technology with over 40 functions, and auto-folding electric ORVMs. The Punch EV, especially in the higher trims, comes with features like dual digital displays (10.25 inches each for the dashboard and infotainment system), ventilated front seats, wireless smartphone connectivity, connected car technology, a sunroof and a 360-degree camera.
Citroen eC3X vs Tata Punch EV: Price comparison
The Citroen eC3X is priced at Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom), while buyers can also opt for a Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) scheme that significantly lowers the price of the vehicle, starting at Rs 6.89 lakh plus Rs 2.26 per kilometer for battery subscription.The Tata Punch EV starts at Rs 9.69 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a more affordable entry between the two lines. Tata is also offering a BaaS program on the Punch EV, with a range of Rs 6.49 lakh plus battery EMIs of Rs 2.6 per km.
