BMW Group India posted its best-ever sales performance in the first half of the year, delivering 9,075 cars between January and June 2026. The luxury carmaker posted 17 percent year-on-year growth during the period, while second quarter sales also rose 17 percent to 4,507 units.A major contributor to the strong performance was the company’s electric vehicle portfolio. BMW Group India sold 2,359 EVs in the first six months of 2026, registering a growth of 78 percent over the previous year. The company said electric vehicles accounted for 26 percent of total car sales during the period, meaning one in four BMW Group cars delivered in India was electric. BMW also said it has the leading luxury electric vehicle brand in the country with a 69 percent market share in the segment.BMW Group India also plans to introduce 14 more products across its brands before the end of 2026.Demand for the company’s long-wheelbase models continued to grow, with sales up 24 percent year-over-year to 4,428 units. These models contributed 52 percent of the company’s total sales in the first half of the year. Meanwhile, BMW and MINI SUVs recorded a 35 percent increase in sales to 5,926 units, representing 65 percent of total volume.MINI also delivered a strong performance, recording 504 car sales in the first half of 2026, an increase of 70 percent compared to the previous year.
