The VW Tayron Life will be produced locally at the carmaker’s Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar plant in Maharashtra. The SUV is a rival to Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian. Interested buyers can book the SUV online or by visiting the nearest VW dealership; Deliveries are expected to begin soon.

Volkswagen Tyron Life

The Tayron Life has a toned down exterior compared to the R-Line. Since it doesn’t get the Sport Styling Package, components such as the front fascia, wheel arch trims and rear bumper trims are finished differently, without the gloss black paint treatment offered on the top-spec version. The front fascia also gets a revised bumper design. It features L-shaped grille inserts and a silver trim below the grille, giving the SUV a cleaner look. Despite these changes, the key lighting elements remain unchanged. The Life trim continues with slim Matrix LED headlights, an illuminated Volkswagen logo in the center and a full-width LED light strip that connects the headlights. In terms of dimensions, the Tayron has a length of 4,792 mm and a wheelbase of 2,789 mm. The side profile remains largely identical to the R-Line, although the alloy wheel design is different. The Life variant rides on 18-inch alloy wheels, which are one inch smaller than those fitted to the flagship model. The SUV still has a clean side profile with a pronounced shoulder line that runs from the rear doors to the tailgate. A silver trim outlines the window area before extending towards the rear of the glass, while a chrome strip further adds to the side profile.Rear changes are limited. The bumper has a simpler design, but the rest of the styling remains unchanged. The Life trim continues with LED taillights with detailed light elements, a full-width LED light bar, an illuminated Volkswagen badge and a roof spoiler.Moving inside, the Tayron Life retains almost the same cabin layout as the R-Line. The most noticeable differences are the absence of R-Line badging and the removal of the third-row seats, making it a five-seater. Feature levels remain largely unchanged despite the lower positioning in the range. The SUV still offers a 15-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a panoramic sunroof, tri-zone automatic climate control, power front seats with ventilation and massage functions, dual wireless smartphone charging pads, a 360-degree camera, nine 2-level airbags and an advanced Le AS Drive system. The Tayron Life comes equipped with an eight-speaker sound system, while the R-Line is equipped with an 11-speaker Harman Kardon premium audio setup. As for the powertrain, it gets the same EA888 2.0, 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 204 PS and 320 Nm. The engine comes paired with a 7-speed DCT transmission, which sends power to all four wheels.
