Ranbir pointed out that Yash’s Ravana, as envisioned in Nitesh Tiwari’s film, deviates from recent “stereotypes” of the character.
Ranbir Kapoor shares screen with Yash
At the Ramayana panel, Ranbir spoke about the experience of sharing the film with Yash. He said, “Lord Rama and Ravana will appear together at the end of the film and may meet in the middle. But we have not shot this yet. So, there is no chance for us to work together.” However, I’ve known Yash for a while and I’ve always been a big fan of his work. I firmly believe that we need someone to play this character who has his aura, his star quality, his point of view.“Talking about how this Ravana is different from the past portrayals in Nitesh Tiwari’s films, Ranbir added, “He plays this Ravana with so much style, aura and honesty that he really makes Ravana come alive. Over the years, we have had very stereotypical portrayals of Ravana, but not this.”
Yash on the importance of intention
Meanwhile, Yash said his confidence in the film hinges on the team’s intentions being correct. “Intention is the most important thing. If you have the right intention and the right team, everything will fall into place. There are many aspects to the story itself, and there are many aspects of life that we have started to figure out while making this film. Technically, yes, the makeup and the look are very demanding. There are a lot of challenges, but ultimately, when you are trying to tell a story – that’s why we are all here. We love stories and strive to present them in the most authentic way possible. I think we can do it in a pretty good way, I believe,” the Kannada star said.
Trailer release delayed, says Namit Malhotra
The team’s Comic-Con was originally scheduled to end with the trailer’s global release on Friday morning, but producer Namit Malhotra said the release has been postponed to a later date. He wrote in a social media post: “Today is a very special moment for us at Ramayana. Through our partnership with Sony Pictures Entertainment, my dream of bringing Ramayana to the world has now become a reality. In light of the above, we will launch our trailer globally at a later date. “This will be a proud moment in the more than 100-year history of Indian cinema, when Ramayana will be shown to the world like any major global Hindi film. This is special because it opens the door for people around the world to discover the richness of our culture and our stories with new pride and enthusiasm.”

Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Ramayana will be made into a two-part epic, the first part of which will be released in November this year.
