Kawasaki India has updated the KLX 230 range of motorcycles in the Indian market for the model year 2027. The company has also introduced a new variant of the KLX230 S. With this addition, the KLX230 range now includes three models – the standard KLX230, the new KLX230 S and the off-road only KLX230R S. Interested buyers can book the updated motorcycles online or by visiting the nearest dealership. The KLX 230 will continue to be offered in two color options – lime green and battle gray.

The KLX230R S is now priced at Rs 1.89 lakh, while both the KLX230 and the newly launched KLX230 S retail at Rs 2.19 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom). The standard KLX230 has received a significant price hike, from Rs 1.84 lakh to Rs 2.19 lakh, while the KLX230R S is now Rs 10,000 more expensive than before. Deliveries of the KLX230R S are scheduled to begin in mid-August 2026, with the KLX230 and KLX230 S arriving to customers from mid-September.The newly introduced KLX230 S shares its engine and mechanical package with the standard KLX230, but is designed with a lower seat height. At 830mm, its seat is 50mm lower than the 880mm unit on the standard model. To achieve this, Kawasaki reduced the suspension travel to 160mm at the front and 163mm at the rear, compared to 220mm and 223mm, respectively, on the KLX230. Ground clearance has also been reduced from 255 mm to 220 mm.

Positioned as the most off-road-oriented model in the range, the KLX230R S ditches road-going equipment like headlights in favor of a more off-road-focused setup. It is characterized by a higher seat height of 900 mm, with 270 mm of ground clearance. Powering the entire 2027 KLX230 range is a 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, fuel-injected engine that develops 19PS at 7,800rpm and 19Nm of torque at 6,200rpm. The engine is mated to a six-speed gearbox in all three models.
