Ace filmmaker SS Rajamouli is working on his next big project ‘Varanasi’ with a huge cast Mahesh Babu, Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran. The film is currently in the production stage, with about 80 days of filming left until the end of production.

According to Pinkvilla, the director of “Baahubali” attended the screening of “RRR” in France. During the interaction, he talked about the progress in “Varanasi”. Now, he said, only a small portion of filming remains before the film is completed.“My producer is there so he won’t let me reveal too much. I can say that we have completed the main action scenes part of the film and we have only small parts which will be completed in 80 days,” said Rajamouli.

On the other hand, a mid-day report recently stated that the team is preparing for a new shooting schedule in Hyderabad starting from July 7. Mahesh Babu is expected to shoot with nearly 3,500 junior artists. The team has been preparing for this sequence for weeks. This war scene is said to be one of the largest ever planned by SS Rajamouli. The scenes shot in Hyderabad are just the beginning of this massive sequence.

Speaking of “Varanasi”, the film is said to be a time-travel action-adventure film that tells the story of Shiva devotees traveling through different time and space in search of a lost cosmic artifact with powerful power.Mahesh Babu plays Rudra in the film.
