UGC NET June 2026 Exam Answer Key: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is expected to release the provisional answer key for UGC NET June 2026 exam on its official portal soon. Although the exam process has been re-examined on July 5, 2026, the agency has not officially announced the release date of the provisional answer keys or candidate answer sheets.Based on past exam cycles and media reports, provisional and recorded answers are expected to be available in the third or fourth week of July 2026. After the release, candidates will be able to access provisional answer keys, question papers and answer sheets through their login credentials on the official UGC NET portal.How Candidates Download AnswersCandidates have to visit the official website of UGC NET and select the active link of UGC NET June 2026 answer key and challenge window. They must log in using their application number, date of birth or password and the displayed security code. Once logged in, the candidate dashboard will provide access to provisional answers, recorded answer sheets and question papers, which can be downloaded in PDF format.Challenge process and processing feesAfter the provisional answers are announced, candidates can raise objections. Each challenge is subject to a non-refundable processing fee of €200 per issue. If the subject expert accepts the objection, the fee paid for the issue will be refunded directly to the candidate’s bank account. After reviewing all valid objections, the NTA will publish the final answer, which will be used to prepare the final scorecard.Exam details and eligibility criteriaThe June 2026 exam will cover 87 subjects, including the newly introduced subjects of statistics and forestry. There are 150 objective questions in the computer-based test, with a total score of 300 points and no negative marks. The examination will be held in two shifts every day, from 9 am to 12 noon and from 3 pm to 6 pm.A total of 9,93,702 candidates registered for the exam and a total of 7,35,614 people appeared for the exam, with an attendance rate of about 74%. The application process opens on April 29, 2026, and ends on May 24, 2026. Once the objection process is completed, the outcome is expected in August 2026. Only candidates who rank in the top 6% overall are eligible for Assistant Professor status. In the previous December 2025 cycle, 5,108 candidates were awarded Junior Research Fellowships.
