I gave this song everything I had. From production to composing, working with lyricists and singers, recording, vocal tuning, sound, arrangement, every detail is important to me.Tanishq further claimed, “The saddest thing is that as per the royalty statement, I have still received only Rs 8 lakh in royalties for a song that has millions of plays and views across platforms. Honestly, Rs 8 lakh feels like peanuts for the amount of work, time and passion I put into the song. I truly believe that a song of this scale would have earned much more.”
YRF responds to Tanishk Bagchi
Following Tanishk Bagchi’s social media post, yash raj movies has issued an official statement in response to the composer’s allegations regarding royalty payments for the title track of ‘Saiyaara’.A YRF spokesperson said, “The title song of ‘Saiyaara’ is a perfect collaboration between three composers (Tanishk Bagchi, Faheem Abdullah and Arslan Nizami). We are extremely grateful to their talents for creating a timeless song that has touched millions of hearts. Royalties from the title track are already shared by YRF and will continue to be shared equally between all three composers as per the contracts signed by everyone including Tanishk. YRF has paid each collaborator its due fees in accordance with the contract and within the terms and time agreed upon by both parties. “Prior to this statement, Tanishq claimed that he was yet to receive Rs 8 lakh in royalties from the chart-topping song. However, YRF insists that all payments have been made in accordance with the contractual agreements signed by the three composers and that future royalties will continue to be divided equally as stipulated in the contract.
