The venue is located in the Fairplex in Pomona, Los Angeles County, and is the home of the Los Angeles Cavaliers. Due to be completed in July 2026, the stadium currently has a temporary capacity of approximately 5,000 seats, with plans to expand to more than 20,000 permanent seats. LAKR sealed the title with a heartbreaking win over defending champions Washington Liberty after successfully defending 164 runs in a game that went down to the final ball. Sunil Narine and Jason Holder, who have taken over 1,000 T20 wickets between them, played a decisive role in putting Washington Liberty under huge pressure. Narine struck early, dismissing Mitchell Owen for the third time in as many sessions and then dismissed Rachin Ravindra and Steve Smith to reduce Liberty to 29/3. Andries Gous and Nikhil Chaudhary stabilized the chase with a 65-run partnership, but Holder turned things around again when he dismissed Chaudhary for his 400th T20 wicket before removing Ben Dwarshuis and later Gous. Obus Pienaar nearly snatched victory with a stunning 53 off just 24 balls, with a series of towering sixes to bring Liberty back into contention. Just two runs shy of the final delivery, but Pienaar’s dismissal in the final over proved decisive. Lahiru Milantha was then dismissed in his second try off the last ball, giving the Knight Riders a dramatic win and their first MLC title. Earlier, LAKR scored 164 runs after Colin Munro and Andre Fletcher got the team off to a good start, but Washington Liberty fought back through the regular wickets of Nikhil Choudhary, Rajin Ravindra and Ben Devathius to restrict the total. However, Narine and Holder’s experience on the ball ultimately proved the difference in the game as the Knights lifted the trophy for the first time, ending the early dominance of MI New York and Washington Freedom in the league.
