According to People magazine, he has held various voice-over roles over the years since his last appearance in 1997’s Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves.

Rick’s co-star describes how idea for sequel came about Josh Gad revealed that they originally wanted to discuss a reboot of the film Honey, I Shrunk the Kids . “The truth is, I have to say ‘yes’ to this. This is the only way I can get Josh Gad to stop texting me,” Moranis claimed on the panel, before adding, “We’ve been talking about it. I’m really not retiring; I’m just negotiating. But no, it happened at the right time and I started talking to these people to hear who was going to be involved.“
