New Delhi: After heavy rain washed out the first T20I, India will be hoping for better weather when they play the second match of the five-match series against England at Old Trafford in Manchester on Saturday, July 4.India finished 189/7 in the first T20I at Chester-le-Street in a scoreless match thanks to half-centuries from Abhishek Sharma and skipper Shreyas Iyer. Towards the end of India’s innings, the rain continued, forcing the umpires to abandon the game.India will be desperate to get back to winning ways after a disappointing 2-0 loss to Ireland in the T20I series. However, weather may once again play a significant role.

The latest forecasts show another chance of rain in Manchester.During the day, the temperature is expected to reach 21°C, with more clouds and a gentle breeze. Chance of rain is 57%. About 1.3 millimeters of rain is expected, falling over nearly two hours. Wind gusts may reach up to 56 km/h, making conditions challenging.By the time the evening games are scheduled, temperatures are likely to reach around 16°C on cloudy skies. The chance of showers is 55%, the humidity is about 85%, and the cloud cover is 97%.Overnight weather is expected to remain similar, with temperatures dropping to 15°C and humidity rising to 95%, with a further 55% chance of showers.

India wants uninterrupted match

Unlike the opener, both teams are hoping the weather will allow for a full 20-over game.India’s batting showed promising signs in the first T20I with Shreyas Iyer’s 68, Abhishek Sharma’s 59 and Shivam Dube’s unbeaten 42 in the latter stages.With the series still level at 0-0 due to the heavy defeat, India will be keen to get their first win after the setback in Ireland, while England will be looking to exploit home advantage.
