Patrick J. Adams has outlined detailed concepts for a possible revival of the legal drama “Suits” that would bring back the original cast, including Meghan Markle’s character Rachel Zane. The 44-year-old actor took to social media on Friday, July 3, to share his thoughts on how to revive the beloved series with contemporary storylines and an original cast.According to promotional content shared by Adams on Instagram Stories, the revival will center around a class-action lawsuit against an artificial intelligence company. “microphone [Ross, played by Adams] and rachel [Zane, played by Meghan] A class-action lawsuit is being filed against a giant artificial intelligence company, and suddenly, Pierson Hardman’s indiscretions and illegal manipulations over the past few years are threatened by revelations,” he wrote, setting up the central conflict that will bring the characters back together, People reports
Impact on original characters and storylines
Adams outlined how the revival will affect various major characters from the original series. “Harvey [Specter, played by Gabriel Macht] and Donna’s [Paulsen, played by Sarah Rafferty] Life can be over before it really begins. Jessica’s [Pearson, played by Gina Torres] Political careers may be cut short. Louis [Litt, played by Rick Hoffman] Possibly losing what he worked so hard for so long….Company,” he wrote, detailing the stakes for each character.
Creative elements and the possibility of derivative products
Adams came up with various ideas for a revival of the form. “I might throw in some skinny tie jokes and some classic bike montages. Give Harvey and Donna a baby and then make spin-offs with different protagonists in different cities,” he wrote, envisioning an expanded universe beyond the main revival. He ended his speech with confidence in the concept. “It kind of wrote itself. Let’s go. I’m ready,” Adams expressed his enthusiasm for bringing the show back.

Adams clarifies he knew nothing about the plan
In a follow-up post, Adams acknowledged that his claims were speculative and not based on inside information. “As far as I know, I actually know nothing about the reunion plans that were stripped of the franchise after ‘Suit L.A.,'” he wrote, referring to the recently concluded spinoff.Although not officially involved in any revival plans, Adams expressed his rationale for the concept. “But it seems strange not to try to get the band back together. The world is a cesspool of corruption, and it would be fun to watch the group try to do the right thing in a world determined to do all the wrong things. No matter what. I’m available,” he added.
The context of original series and the resurgence of streaming
Suits originally followed Mike, who found himself working at a law firm alongside some of New York City’s best lawyers including Harvey, Jessica and Louis. Donna serves as Harvey’s assistant, while Rachel serves as a paralegal at the start of the series. The show aired on the network from 2011 to 2019 and concluded with the ninth season finale. The legal drama, which debuted on the streaming platform in the summer of 2023, has undergone a major revival, attracting a whole new audience just a few years after it ended. The show’s popularity on streaming has reached unprecedented levels, with the show setting a record for the most-watched content nearly four years after its finale, amassing billions of minutes of watch time on streaming platforms during peak weeks.
Previous Spin-offs and Adams’ Continued Interest in Revival
A spin-off series titled “Suits: Los Angeles” was announced in February 2024 and launched on major networks. The spinoff, starring Stephen Amell as Los Angeles attorney Ted Black, a longtime friend of Harvey’s character from the original show, aired for one season before being canceled in May 2025.Adams has previously expressed interest in bringing back the original cast in various formats. In June 2024, Adams and several of her co-stars from the legal drama, including Sarah Rafferty, Dulé Hill, Abigail Spencer and Amanda Schull, reunited at a show in Austin, Texas, to commemorate the fifth anniversary of the show’s finale. At that event, Adams was asked about the possibility of a theatrical film adaptation, noting that other shows at the same network have been turned into film projects. “That’s definitely something he’s interested in, trying to get the band back together. If that happens, it’s going to depend on a million things,” Adams said at the time. When pressed further about feasibility, Adams expressed cautious optimism. “But is it possible? I think it is possible,” he concluded, saying that despite the obstacles, the revitalization project was still possible.
