New Delhi: Former India captain Chris Srikanth Criticized the Indian team management for dispatching Kuala Lumpur Rahul Sixth in the third ODI against England at Lord’s. India chased 388 but lost the match by 27 runs, losing the three-match series 2-1.Sharing his views on his YouTube channel, Srikkanth questioned the decision to push Rahul down the batting order.“When chasing such a huge total, would anyone field KL Rahul at No. 6? That guy wins a lot for you in a tough chase,” Srikkanth said.“Is Rahul the number six or seven batsman? This is a gross injustice. His body language also looks like a nervous person,” he said.Rahul was bowled out with India at 304/4, needing nearly 15 runs per over. The right-hander finished with 12 off 8 before being dismissed by Jofra Archer.Srikkanth also compared Rahul’s situation and manner Sanzhou Samson and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi handled earlier.“Just like you screwed up Sanju Samson and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, now you screwed up KL Rahul. India need someone to play the role of Jos Buttler (the Englishman scored 41 off 13 balls in the first innings). That’s Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer It’ll be out soon. But if Rahul comes in at No. 4, he will complement Virat Kohli just like he did in the 2023 World Cup. ” said the 1983 World Cup winner.“Rahul was able to accelerate easily. Instead, they sent him to bat after the game. He and Axar Patel were batting at 15 apiece, how could he win the game?” Srikanth said.Rahul has played only two games in the ODI series. He scored 1 run in the first ODI and then scored 12 runs in the series final at Lord’s.Prior to the ODI series defeat, India lost 0-4 to England in the five-match T20I series and 0-2 to Ireland in the two-match T20I series.India will now travel to Zimbabwe for a three-match T20I series. The first game will be held on July 23, the second game on July 25, and the third game on July 26. All three matches will be played in Harare.
