india captain Harmanpreet Kaur Admitted her team had not performed to the level expected and said it was time to “rethink” after their six-match defeat to Australia knocked them out of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup at Lord’s Cricket Ground on Sunday.The defeat meant India failed to advance to the semi-finals despite scoring 170 for four after being asked to bat. “We were in the game for a long time today, but I still think we were not up to our standards and as a team we need to rethink a lot of things,” Cowher said in his post-match speech.Kaur, who scored a half-century, said India had achieved a competitive overall result but admitted that the team’s performance was not good enough against strong teams in the World Cup.“I think at the end of the day we got a good overall score on the board. At one stage I thought we were a bit short but towards the end I thought I got the job done for us.”“But we didn’t bowl well. Australia bowled well. Throughout the tournament, we didn’t perform well against strong teams. We need to improve against strong teams,” she said.Australia captain Sophie Molineux praised Ellyse Perry and Ashleigh Gardner after they scored 100 runs for the fourth wicket to lead Australia to victory.“These two are batting beautifully.
