Ahead of its official debut in India, Nissan’s all-new Tekton has already achieved the highest five-star safety rating under the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (BNCAP). The certification appeared on the BNCAP portal ahead of the SUV’s launch, putting its crash safety credentials in the spotlight even before Nissan revealed the model. The same listing also offered the first clear glimpse of the Tekton’s exterior design, effectively revealing the SUV ahead of schedule.

The Nissan Tekton scored 30.49 out of 32 in the Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) category. It secured a 14.49 out of 16 in the Frontal Offset deformable obstacle test and a full 16 out of 16 in the Side Moving Deformable Barrier test. In the Child Occupant Protection (COP) category, the SUV scored 45 out of 49 points. It scored a maximum of 24 out of 24 in the dynamic test and 12 out of 12 for the installation of the child restraint system (CRS), while it received 9 out of 13 points in the vehicle evaluation category. The BNCAP list also revealed the Tekton’s exterior design ahead of its official unveiling.
