Dancer Shiloh Jolie, the former couple’s first biological child, applied to change her legal name in 2024, the day after her 18th birthday, The Independent reported. The campaign was followed by her three siblings, who each submitted separate petitions. Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt, the youngest daughter of Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, filed the petition citing “personal” reasons. The hearing is scheduled for November 2, 2026. Before Vivian, her siblings Maddox and Zahara issued a proclamation under California law asking that “Pete” be removed from their names.
Nicolas Cage
Nicolas Cage’s legal name is Nicholas Coppola and he recently changed his legal name in 2025 to his popular name. “I’m Nic Cage. I legally changed my name last year,” he told Variety, before adding, “I’m Nic Cage in real life, I’m Nic Cage on camera. It’s better to be the patriarch of my own little family than to be someone else’s marginalized clown cousin, so I decided to go ahead and be ‘Cage.’‘”

Suri Noelle, daughter tom cruise and Katie Holmesis called Suri Cruise for a long time. However, according to Page Six, she used the new name at her high school graduation ceremony in New York City. “Noelle” comes from her mother’s middle name. Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes filed for divorce in 2012 and settled five weeks later. Reports claim that the actor has become estranged from Suri.
Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie’s children also followed her lead and changed their names. In 2002, the actress dropped her father’s surname and changed her name from Angelina Jolie Voight to her own. “As an actor, I didn’t want to be Voight because of how people would react to the name,” Jolie told The Sun in 2011, before adding, “When I was younger, my dad would always apologize for articles describing me as ‘Voight.'”Jon VoightJolie has not made any public comments about the child’s name change.
