AICWA has sought compensation of Rs 1 crore to his family and employment or financial assistance to his widow and long-term financial support for the future security of his daughters.The association has also urged the Maharashtra government to halt all shooting activities at the site until a comprehensive safety audit is completed and mandatory safety norms are certified by the relevant authorities.
What happened on the set of Love and War?
According to reports, 42-year-old carpenter Chandradhari Singh Yadav died on June 17 during the shooting of “Love and War” at Royal Pump Studio near Mumbai Film City. While the Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees (FWICE) had earlier said that Yadav died after being electrocuted, AICWA president Suresh Shyamlal Gupta has now refuted the claim. Gupta reportedly claimed that the worker died after part of the fixed structure or roof collapsed, and claimed that several other workers were also injured in the incident.

Gupta also cited past incidents related to the production of Bhansali, claiming that there were similar deaths of workers during the production of “Devdas” and “Padmaavat”. AICWA further claimed that film crews were often forced to work in unsafe conditions and that poor safety supervision significantly increased the risk of accidents on set.The production company has yet to formally respond to AICWA’s request.
