Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan has made an impressive start at the box office. The actor’s last theatrical release opened in India and overseas and performed strongly at the box office.According to preliminary estimates by Sacnilk, “Jana Nayagan” has earned a net revenue of Rs 41 crore on its first day in India.The film screened 13,067 times on its first day. The film’s domestic box office was 482.7 million rupees, and the overseas box office was 300 million rupees, bringing the global box office total to 782.7 million rupees.
‘Jana Nayagan’ nets Rs 41 crore in India
“Jana Nayagan” earned a net revenue of Rs 41 crore in India on its first day. The Tamil version dominated with revenue of Rs 36.5 crore, while the Telugu version contributed Rs 275 crore. The Hindi version earned Rs 175 crore.The film’s overall viewership rating across all languages in India was 41.6%. Tamil remains the film’s strongest market.
Tamil version records highest occupancy rate
The overall occupancy rate for the Tamil version was 68.31% on Thursday. The opening ratings for the morning show were 73.85%, and the ratings for the afternoon show were 62.46%. The evening occupancy rate was 63.62%, while night performances climbed to 73.31%.The Telugu version recorded an overall occupancy rate of 27.81%, with the night show recording the highest occupancy rate of 33.58%.The overall occupancy rate for the Hindi version was 14.60%. The movie’s attendance rate gradually increased during the day, and the evening attendance rate reached 20.33%.
Tamil Nadu leads state collection
Tamil Nadu became the largest contributor to the film’s first-day box office revenue, with revenue of Rs 24 crore. Karnataka follows with Rs 1,125 crore, while Kerala has Rs 552 crore. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana contributed Rs 4 crore and the rest of India contributed Rs 350 crore.These markets together helped the film collect Rs 48.27 crore at the domestic box office. Overseas markets added another Rs 30 crore, taking the global total to Rs 782.7 million.
H. Vinoth directs Vijay’s last theatrical performance
“Jana Nayagan” is directed by H. Vinoth and stars Thalapathy Vijay as Vetri Kondan, a fearless ex-cop. He is determined to fulfill his promise and train his adopted daughter Weiji (Mamisha Baizhu) to become a soldier. However, her painful past makes her journey difficult.The story also introduces John Himler, played by Bobby Deol, who arrives in India with plans to cause widespread riots.
