The department strongly supported the demand and pointed out that Vithabhai was not just an ordinary folk artist but someone who promoted the rich cultural heritage of Maharashtra, including its art form and tamasha tradition. Members feel that the current title “Eetha” does not reflect the weight or impact that a film about such a legendary figure should have.

The report further revealed that Vithabai’s family has extended strong support to the NCP film and culture department. her sons Kailash Narayangonkar and Rajesh Both Narayangaonkar and her grandson Mohit Narayangaonkar expressed their full support to the party’s demands. NCP Maharashtra president Babasaheb Patil stressed that it was his personal and the party’s responsibility to ensure that Veetabhai’s life and legacy are depicted on screen with the highest degree of respect, dignity and grace. Despite the ongoing controversy, the film’s producers Maddock Films and director Laxman Utkar have remained completely silent and are yet to make any statement or response regarding the objections raised about the film’s title.
