Bagishri Breaks silence on recent criticism following her Kashgar A video of her promoting lassi milkshakes at a local store went viral. After social media users dismissed the video as “fake” promotion, the actor posted another video to set the record straight, saying her only goal was to support local vendors and celebrate the city’s food traditions.
Bhagyashree recalls her early mornings in Gangaghats
Sharing the clip, the actress wrote, “It was a hot day and it was a milkshake on Tuesday. I had been up since 3 am making mangala aarti and walking down Gangaghats in the sweltering heat and this milkshake was just the energy booster I needed. Sprinkled with dry fruits on top, I enjoyed the crunch.”
Bhagyashree talks about the health benefits of curd drinks
The actor further shared her views on the health benefits of curd drinks and noted that sugar-sweetened lassi may not be suitable for everyone. She says, “Salty or sweet is a matter of choice and yes, for diabetics, indulging in sugar-sweetened shakes is not the right choice. Curd is rich in calcium, protein and probiotics. The sugar/nectar provides energy and hydration… For me, this is the perfect combination in the 40° heat.“
Bhagyashree questions ‘fake’ promotional claims
Bhagyashree responded head-on to the viral video, rebutting those who called the promotion fake without knowing the entire story. She pointed out that the video circulating online was cut short and lacked key context. “Besides the excellent taste, there is also love in making it. There is a video circulating saying this is a fake promotion. Kya aap the wahan par? Kya kahin bhi uss fake Clip ke dauran kisine, ss, ya record kiya ki meine yeh kaha kipieh too sweet for me?..fake toh aaddha video, Adi Knowledge ke saath upload karna hota hein. “
Bhagyashree defends her intention to promote local food
She further added that promoting regional food is not motivated by any personal gain but is simply a way of supporting small businesses and local suppliers. “Local food can promote karne se koi bhi paise nahi kamate. The only good thing is that local food, local vendors are supported. It is a shame that lazy people have nothing to say even about the simplest things. Kashgar is a pure place, how insignificant your roar is. #hydrate #benarasi #lassi #probiotics,” she wrote.
How did the controversy begin?
The row erupted after a brief clip from Baggishri’s Varanasi trip circulated on social media. Some users claimed that she didn’t actually drink lassi after filming for the promotional video, suggesting that she avoids lassi because of its sugar and fat content. Others counter that supporting local businesses doesn’t mean celebrities have to change their eating habits.
