Actor Eva Grover, known for popular TV shows like ‘Karishma Ka Karishma’, ‘Kora Kagaz’ and ‘Sapna Babul Ka… Bidaai’ has opened up about her previous marriage to Aamir Khan’s half-brother Hyder Ali Khan. In a recent interview, she claimed a whirlwind romance eventually turned into years of domestic violence, emotional distress and personal loss. Although the couple have long since divorced, Eva also claims that Hyde is going through a difficult time now and is struggling to meet even his basic needs.Eva recalled that she and Hyde eloped because of their interfaith relationship. According to her, he proposed just 19 days after they first met, and the two married shortly thereafter.In interviews, Eva claimed Hyde suffered from schizophrenia, which she said she knew nothing about when they were married.“On the third day of our wedding, I witnessed the first wave of violence. He had schizophrenia, but I didn’t really understand what schizophrenia meant at the time. I barely knew Hyde. In the 18 days before our wedding, I had only seen his chivalrous side. But on the third day of our wedding, he started hitting me during our intimate moments. At the time, I couldn’t understand why this was happening,” she said in the interview. Siddhartha. Kannan. Eva further claimed that Hyde’s poor mental health, combined with excessive drinking and disappointment after quitting his job to pursue an acting career, led to a gradual deterioration in their relationship. She also said his parents tried unsuccessfully to stop the alleged abuse.“There used to be bruises. I would be shocked. My father-in-law and mother-in-law tried to make him understand. They even cried in front of him and asked him why he did this,” she said.She also claimed that Hyde became increasingly paranoid and often accused her of events that only existed in his imagination. “He started having obsessive thoughts that were not real. He would imagine me sitting with the driver or accuse me of things that only existed in his imagination. From morning till night, he would drink,” she claimed. Despite the abuse, Eva said she stayed in the marriage for five years in the hope that things would improve. She believed becoming a parent might strengthen their relationship, but said it only got worse after her daughter was born.“There was a lot of violence in my marriage. I tried really hard to save it. I even thought having kids would make everything better, but instead, things only got worse. As soon as my daughter was born, divorce proceedings were initiated and I was sent back to my mother’s house. ” she recalled.Eva claims her injuries were serious enough for those around her to notice, and credits her relatives and colleagues with encouraging her to leave her marriage.“My uncle, the members of the shooting team and everyone around me convinced my mother that I was in bad condition. I had bruises all over my body. They said I wouldn’t survive if I stayed there. Eventually, I got divorced,” she said.The actor also reflected on the emotional toll of being separated from his daughter. She said the child initially stayed with her until he was three, after which weekend visits with her father became increasingly difficult and custody was permanently transferred to Hyde’s family.“I was silent for so long that in the midst of all the chaos, my daughter was permanently given to that family at the age of three. I didn’t see her for the next 10 years because I had no support,” she said.Eva added that although she has not been able to see her daughter for ten years, she continues to support her financially by contributing to her education.“I endured five years of physical abuse. My daughter is no longer with me. I haven’t seen her in ten years. I used to quietly send her money every month for her education. She is now 19 and comes to see me once or twice a week. She is much more mature than I was at her age. ” Eva shared.In the same interview, Eva also talked about Aamir Khan’s relationship with Haider Ali Khan’s family. She claimed Aamir knew she was facing problems in her marriage.“I heard Mr. Aamir said that I did not take the right decision. This news was conveyed to me through other channels before my marriage, but I did not pay attention,” she claimed.Eva further claims that Amir has largely stayed away from this side of the family. She explained that Haider and his sister were not Tahir Hussain’s biological children but from a previous marriage to his second wife, Shehnaz Khan.She also claimed that Aamir took Tahir Hussain to Pune to care for him in his last days, while Haider’s mother Sheikhnaz Khan was not allowed to see him despite their close relationship.“Mr Aamir Khan did not want anything to do with this family. When Tahir Abu was in the final stages of his life, he took him to Pune and left him there. Even my former mother-in-law, whom Tahir Hussain loved dearly, was not allowed to see him,” Eva claimed.Eva claimed that her former mother-in-law’s health declined over the next few years and she eventually died of a brain haemorrhage.Before ending the interview, Eva Grover said that despite the pain she claims she experienced during her marriage, she still feels for her ex-husband. According to her, Haider Ali Khan is currently facing serious financial difficulties and is struggling to survive.“Now, Hyde’s situation is not good. He has no house and is struggling to get food. Sometimes he is kept in a hut, sometimes friends help him. I feel sad. Whatever happened, happened, but from a humanitarian point of view, he was once my husband.”Eva further claimed that Hyde was not properly cared for and was still surrounded by people who encouraged his drinking habit.“He was surrounded by people who kept giving him alcohol. There was no one to take care of him. I can only pray that whenever his life comes, he can find peace. He has suffered a lot.”
