Bank Talent Selection Research Institute (IBPS) has extended the last date to apply for the Trainee Officer (PO) and Specialist Officer (SO) recruitment 2026. Eligible candidates can now submit their applications through the official website ibps.in before July 26, 2026.The recruitment drive is aimed at filling 6,715 probationary officer vacancies and 745 professional officer vacancies in participating banks.
IBPS PO, SO Recruitment 2026 : Qualifications
For the post of Trainee Officer (PO), the candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a university recognized by the Government of India or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Central Government. They should also hold a valid transcript or degree certificate when registering online and indicate their graduation grade when filling out the application form.For Specialist Officer (SO) posts, educational qualifications vary depending on the post. Candidates should carefully check the detailed notification regarding later eligibility criteria.
IBPS PO, SO Recruitment 2026: Selection Process
For Probationary Officer (PO) recruitment, the selection process includes preliminary examination, main examination and personality test.There are 100 questions in the preliminary test, with a maximum score of 100 points, and the test time is 60 minutes. The main exam consists of 170 questions worth a total of 200 marks and lasts for 160 minutes.There are negative ratings on objective tests. One quarter (0.25) of points will be deducted for each incorrect question answered, while there will be no penalty for unanswered questions.For Specialist Officer (SO) recruitment, candidates have to appear for online preliminary examination, online main examination and interview. Those who pass the preliminary examination will enter the re-examination. The final selection will be based on the results of the main examination and interview.

Candidates belonging to the General, Other Backward Classes (OBC) and Economically Weaker Classes (EWS) categories have to pay an application fee of Rs 850.Candidates from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) categories have to pay Rs 175.Payment can be made through debit card, credit card, net banking or UPI. Candidates are advised to complete the application process before the extended deadline of July 26, 2026.
