She is now the latest child to distance herself from Jolie Pitt by dropping her last name.According to obtained court documents, the 18-year-old requested that her legal name be changed from “Vivienne Marcheline Jolie-Pitt” to “Vivienne Marcheline Jolie.” The reason for the change was listed simply as “personal.”A hearing on the petition is scheduled for November 2.

Vivian filed to give up her father’s surname just months after her siblings Zahara and Maddox also took legal action to officially give up Pitt’s surname earlier this year.In 2024, Shiloh filed a petition to change her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Jolie. The request was approved later that year.Meanwhile, Zahara requested that her name be legally changed to Zahara Marley Jolie, while Maddox requested that his legal name be changed to Maddox Chivan Jolie. Hearings on their petitions are scheduled for September 28 and September 14 respectively.
Although Vivian has only used “Julie” as her last name since 2024, this is her first legal move to officially change her name. She made headlines when she was credited as “Vivian Jolie” in the credits of the Broadway musical “The Outsider,” which she produced with her mother.
She made the legal application just weeks after her 18th birthday. Vivian was born in July 2008 and is one of the youngest children of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. She and her twin brother Knox are the youngest of the former couple’s six children.
