New Delhi: Cricket Australia on Tuesday named its 13-member squad for the upcoming two-Test series against Bangladesh, captained by Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood swear Nathan Lyon Returned after recovering from injury. The series will begin on August 13 and will be Bangladesh’s first Test tour in Australia since 2003. Australia comes into the series in excellent form. The reigning World Test Championship champions currently top the WTC 2025-27 points table after winning seven of their previous eight matches.Australia’s chief selector George Bailey confirmed that the returning bowler is in good health.“As you would expect, we’re not going to lock in the starting XI this far, but we do know that the depth is there over these two Test series.”“I’m sure there will be (future) testing of the (big four) group playing together. Cummins, Hazlewood and Lyon have all worked extremely hard over the past few months to recover from their respective injuries, both individually and with the (fitness) team,” Bailey said.
Busy testing schedule
The Bangladesh series will begin with the first Test in Darwin from August 13 to 17. The second and final Test will be played in Mackay from August 22 to 26.The two-match series marks the start of an intense 12-month schedule for Australia, which will see them play 20 Test matches, including challenge matches in South Africa, India and England.
