Kia India has unveiled the much-awaited Syros EV. The company has also opened pre-bookings for the electric SUV priced at Rs 25,000 through its official website and dealers across the country. The Syros EV is offered with two battery pack options and has an ARAI-certified driving range of up to 526 km.The larger 51.4 kWh battery provides an ARAI-certified range of 526 km. It can also be had with a smaller 42 kWh battery that offers a range of 443 km. Power comes from a front electric motor that produces 171 hp, while the version with the larger battery can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.1 seconds.Speaking of charging capabilities, with a 100 kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 39 minutes. The SUV also comes with an on-board 10.8kW AC charger, battery conditioning technology and regenerative braking with i-Pedal mode. Kia also offers a lifetime high-voltage battery warranty, a guaranteed buyback program and its Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) financing option. In terms of design, the Syros EV largely resembles its ICE counterpart, apart from a few EV-specific styling cues such as the Digital Tiger Face, Ice Cube MFR LED headlights, Star Map LED lighting, door handles and 17-inch two-tone aero alloy wheels. Customers can also choose the option of 16-inch wheels, depending on the variant.Inside, the Syros EV gets a 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display Panel that combines a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a 5-inch climate control screen. Other features include wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Kia Connect 2.0 with over 95 connected features, over-the-air updates, 8-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, ventilated front and rear seats, panoramic sunroof, 4-way power driver’s seat, ambient lighting, 1.6-liter smart dash camera and front-facing cameraIn terms of safety, the Syros EV comes equipped with Level 2 ADAS that offers 16 autonomous driving functions, including Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Keeping Assist. It also gets six airbags, electronic stability control, vehicle stability control, hill-start assist, all-wheel disc brakes, an electronic parking brake with automatic hold, a 360-degree camera, a blind-view monitor, and a total of 25 standard safety features.The Syros EV will be available in seven variants with two battery options. Kia will offer the electric SUV in nine exterior colors along with multiple interior themes. The price has yet to be confirmed.
