The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Sunday announced two changes to the Indian squad for the upcoming series between England and Zimbabwe following injuries to Harshit Rana and Varun Chakravarthy.Fast bowler Prince Yadav replaced Harshit Rana in India’s ODI series against England. Hashit missed the game with a hamstring injury.Meanwhile, leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi has been selected in the Indian squad for the three-match T20I series against Zimbabwe later this month, replacing Varun Chakravarthy.Bishnoi was not in the original squad but has now been included after it was confirmed that Varun would need more time to recover from a hamstring injury that also ruled him out of the last two T20Is against England.Bishnoi played the first two games of India’s five-match T20I series in England. India failed to bowl in the first match due to heavy rain. In the second T20I at Old Trafford, Bishnoi conceded 60 runs in four overs. He also bowled three off-the-foot no-balls and conceded two sixes and a four in the resulting free hits.Varun will now report to the BCCI Center of Excellence (CoE) in Bengaluru for further assessment and rehabilitation. He will also be joined there by Harshit Rana as he missed the three-match ODI series against England due to a hamstring injury.Varun only recently returned to action in the T20I series in Ireland and later played in the first two T20I series against England. The latest injury is another setback after he fractured his left toe in the latter stages of IPL 2026.
