Recalling the incident, Govinda told Bollywood Bubble, “She comes from a wealthy family. One day, I saw her standing outside my house. I asked her, ‘Do you want a job? Ask my mom, she just does all the work in the house.’ My mother gave her a job doing housework.
Sunita Ahuja become suspicious
According to Govinda, the woman struggled with her family responsibilities but showed noticeable changes in her behavior whenever the actor returned home. Her enthusiasm eventually caught the attention of his wife, Sunita Ahuja, who thought something was unusual. Sunita later decided to investigate the matter herself. She eventually learned that the woman came from a wealthy family and only took the job because she was a fervent admirer of Govinda.Sharing the incident, Sunita said, “One day, she was talking on the phone and I snatched her phone away. She was talking to her father and I came to know that she comes from a big family and her father has eight cars. But since she was a huge fan of Govinda, she just wanted to be with him.”

Govinda and Sunita chose to keep their marriage private early in their careers as actors. Sunita explained that they thought revealing the marriage too early might affect Govinda’s popularity among fans. She recalled, “He was at the peak of his career. At that time, just like when a hero gets married, the fan following kam ho jaati hai (fan following used to decrease). So, I told him, ‘Sign as many films as you can in a year and till then, chup chaap se rahenge’.” Main room mein chup kar baithti thi (We didn’t reveal anything. I used to hide in a room). But when our daughter was born, we revealed the news on her first birthday. “The couple tied the knot in 1987 and later made their marriage public during daughter Tina Ahuja’s first birthday celebrations.

Professionally, Govinda has largely stayed away from the big screen in recent years.
