SS Rajamouli’s Varanasi is once again making headlines and this time, after the image of the lead actor Mahesh Babu, the character Lord Ram has started doing the rounds online.In the picture that emerged on the fan handle, the actor is seen wearing a saffron robe with a bow slung over his shoulders. The scene in question appears to be in a rural setting. While it’s unclear if the image is an artificial intelligence interpretation of the film’s filming, fans are excited about him playing Lord Rama in the upcoming movie.So far, the makers have teased Mahesh Babu’s look in the film only in the trailer. The image, believed to be a fan-made post, can clearly see the actor in Lord Rama’s avatar.Director Rajamouli had previously revealed that seeing Mahesh Babu’s avatar of Lord Rama gave him “goosebumps”. He also said that Mahesh had “the charisma of Krishna and the calmness of Rama”.Another image that is doing rounds on the internet is a poster of Mahesh Babu holding a shamrock in his hand. While the photo was shared last year, it has now gone viral after it appeared in promotional material during a fan interaction with Rajamoulis.There is new interest in Varanasi after director SS Rajamouli promoted the film in France. The filmmakers had previously confirmed that the Mahesh Babu-starrer film is an independent film and revealed that audiences can expect a length of 20 to 30 minutes Ramayanashot in IMAX format.Varanasi starring Mahesh Babu alongside Priyanka Chopra and Prithviraj Sukumaran is currently in production. Rajamouli recently revealed that the film has about 80 days left to shoot before it wraps up and begins post-production.The movie is expected to be released in April 2027.
