box office expectations keep a positive attitude
The espionage thriller began pre-ordering on Wednesday, just two days before it opens in theaters. Alfa, starring Alia Bhatt, Shawari, Bobby Deol and Anil Kapoor in pivotal roles, is expected to get off to a good start at the box office.According to industry analyst Ramesh Bala, the film has earned around Rs 175 crore from advance bookings. He expects the action film to earn over Rs 50 million on its opening day and if word-of-mouth continues to be good from the audience, it is likely to earn around Rs 150 million during its opening weekend.“Alpha” was released alongside Huma Qureshi’s “Baby Do Die Do”. However, industry experts believe that the two films cater to different audiences and therefore direct competition is unlikely.
