Raisa made it clear in her statement that she was unwilling to compromise her beliefs. “The reason I am resigning is that I refuse to be anyone’s puppet,” she wrote. She noted that she had the support of the majority of AMMA members during the election and performed her duties to the best of her ability. However, she claimed that certain groups within the organization blocked investigations into alleged irregularities by the former committee. Attempts at accountability and transparency have been repeatedly thwarted, making it difficult for leadership to operate effectively, she said.

Shwetha also demanded a detailed forensic audit of AMMA’s accounts for the past two terms. She claimed that questions regarding financial and administrative matters needed to be given appropriate answers. Meanwhile, the actress claims she is the subject of an ongoing campaign aimed at damaging her reputation. “The defamation of character started even before the election,” she said, suggesting the criticism against her was not recent. Despite the challenges, Shwetha remains steadfast and says her decision is based on her conscience and principles.

Responding to speculation about her resignation, Shweta categorically denied any political connection. “I have never participated in any event organized by the BJP-led central government or the former LDF-led state government,” she said, stressing that her stance was completely independent.Her resignation was also supported by actor Sukumaran Mallika, who announced his resignation from AMMA and publicly supported Shwetha. With her latest statement, Shwetha Menon made it clear that her departure was not an act of weakness but was necessary in line with her values and principles.
