Marcus Stoinis produced a stunning display of power-hitting in the 17th over, smashing five sixes off Washington Freedom player Ian Holland to decisively swing the match in favor of the Seattle Orcas at MLC 2026 at the Oakland Coliseum.The Australian all-rounder got off to a slow start, scoring just four points from his first six serves, but he turned the tables in stunning fashion. Stoinis took full advantage of the death overs and stormed into the Dutch side, hitting five boundaries in the over to score 30 and completely turn the momentum around.He’s not done yet. In the next over, Stoinis sent out Marco Jansen for another six, but not before being caught off the next ball. He hit 42 balls in just 16 deliveries, including six sixes, with a strike rate of 262.50.

Seattle Orcas beat Washington Liberty by 88 points

Asked to bat first, the Seattle Orcas got off to a solid start with a great batting performance from Shimron Hetmyer. The West Indies batsman set the Auckland Stadium on fire with 79 off 33 balls, hitting nine sixes and two fours to put immense pressure on the free bowlers.He was well supported by captain Marcus Stoinis, who blasted 42 runs in just 16 deliveries, including six sixes, while opener Tim Seifert set the stage with a comfortable 37 off 20 balls. While Marco Jansen impressed with 3/33, Seattle posted 227/6, leaving Washington Liberty in trouble.The response never gained momentum as Jasdeep Singh unleashed a devastating spell with the new ball. The right-arm seamer broke through the top order and finished with brilliant figures of 5/24 in four overs, putting Liberty on the back foot from the start.Washington’s star-studded batting line-up crumbled under the pressure, with Steven Smith (1), Glenn Maxwell (0) and Mitchell Owen (5) all failing as they fell to 50/7 in the first eight overs.Amila Aponso’s 31 off 13 balls and a late comeback from Ian Holland (26) added some considerable flavor to the scoreline but there was no doubt about the result. Cameron Gannon took 2/16 as the Washington Liberty were bowled out for 139 in 16.2 overs as the Seattle Orcas registered a crushing 88-run victory.
