Maharashtra CET will start registration for agriculture and biotechnology admissions in 2026; apply before July 25

The Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (CET) cell has started the registration process for admission to Agriculture, Agricultural Engineering and Biotechnology programs for the academic year 2026-27. Eligible candidates can apply online through the official website cetcell.mahacet.org and the last date is July 25, 2026.The admissions process is open to several undergraduate courses including BSc (Hons) Agriculture, BSc (Hons) Horticulture, BSc (Hons) Forestry, Bachelor of Fisheries Science (BFSc), Agricultural Biotechnology, Agribusiness Management and other agriculture-related courses.CET Cell also invites applications for the Bachelor of Technology (BTech) courses in Agricultural Engineering and Food Technology.According to an official notification, these four-year professional degree courses are offered by nine departments in four agricultural universities in Maharashtra. There are a total of 17,586 first-year enrollment quotas in 195 agricultural colleges across the state.

Eligibility criteria

Candidates must upload all required documents and certificates while submitting the online application form.For admission to Agricultural Engineering, the prescribed entrance examination criteria will be applicable. For all other agriculture degree courses, candidates can seek admission on the basis of merit in Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET), Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) or National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), depending on the eligibility requirements of the respective course.However, CET Cell pointed out that the NEET 2026 results are yet to be announced. To ensure that enrollment begins on time, the authorities have only announced a tentative enrollment schedule.

CET Cell said the detailed timetable for the remaining admission process includes:

  • Online appeal submission
  • Final list of winners
  • seating matrix
  • Admission allocation rounds
  • Centralized admissions round
  • College-Level Admissions Rounds
  • College-level admissions

It will be announced after the NEET 2026 results are announced.Candidates are advised to complete their registration before the deadline and check the official website regularly for further updates regarding the admission process.
