She said: “Before the release of Maa Inti Bangaram, I remember being obsessed with one thing: Are people talking about the film? Are the assets we are releasing reaching people? Do they know the film exists?”She also shared a story about a movie exhibitor. Exhibitors were asked about the film before its release, she said. The exhibitor replied: “Why would anyone watch a film with a heroine? If she is in a big hero film, that’s fine. People know her because of her charisma. But a film with a heroine? Who will come? No one.” Samantha said she hoped the success would bring change to the film industry. “I think real change only happens when someone is willing to take a risk,” she wrote. She added, “I hope the next time someone calls an exhibitor at Center B or C to ask about a female-led film, the answer isn’t an immediate no. Maybe it’s, ‘Let’s see.'”
