Vishnu Vishal and Aishwarya Lakshmi‘s Gatta Kusthi 2 has completed the first phase of its theatrical journey and is currently gearing up for an OTT release.The sports comedy sequel was released on July 3, 2026 and performed well at the box office.
OTT releases details of Gatta Kusthi 2
Netflix officially announced earlier that it had acquired post-theatrical streaming rights to the film. Gatta Kusthi 2 will start streaming on the platform once its theatrical release is over. The film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada. An official date has yet to be announced.
Film chronicles positive weekend collection
According to Sacnilk’s trade estimates, the film earned around Rs 620 crore (net revenue in India) on its third day. This was an increase of 25.3% compared to the previous day’s Rs 4.95 billion.The third day’s collection features nearly 2,400 exhibitions from across India. The film’s cumulative net revenue in India has climbed to Rs 138.5 crore, while the total revenue in India was Rs 1593 crore.
Veera and Keerthi face new challenges
The sequel continues the journey of Veera played by Vishnu Vishal and Kirti played by Aishwarya Lakshmi. It follows the events of the original film.Vera encouraged Kirti to fulfill her dream of becoming a national wrestling champion. Keerthi focuses on her training and fulfilling her duties as a government employee, while Veera manages their home.However, the story takes a turn when a wrestling coach wants Cordy to have a successful career.The couple’s marriage came under pressure, eventually leading to their separation. Virat soon found himself accused of being responsible for Corti’s setback.Like the first film, Gatta Kusthi 2 also has an interesting plot and has received positive reviews from the audience.
