Harbhajan posted details on X after watching the movie. He wrote: “Jallianwala Bagh was one of the greatest massacres in history. It was perpetrated by a colonial regime. But after watching Jaswant Singh Kalra, the question that bothered me was different: What could be more painful than oppression by outsiders? When those entrusted with protecting their own people are accused of being the source of their greatest fears.”He further wrote, “The duty of the police is to protect innocent lives, not to abuse power. Kalra’s courage in uncovering evidence of alleged illegal disappearances and secret cremations reminds us that misuse of state power can leave scars that last for generations. Mothers in Punjab are still waiting for answers. Many families are still waiting for justice. The truth cannot stay buried forever.”He concluded: “@HoneyTrehan and @diljitdosanjh did a fantastic job bringing Jaswant Singh Khalra’s story to the world. His courage deserves to be remembered.”

“Satluj” removed from Indian OTT

Harbhajan’s post comes days after Satluj (previously known as Punjab ’95) pulled out of Indian OTT. The biographical drama began airing on July 3, but the platform later confirmed that it had been removed from its Indian catalog.After the video was removed, ZEE5 issued an official statement thanking viewers for their response.It said: “Since the release of Satluj, the response has been truly overwhelming. We are deeply grateful to every viewer who chooses to subscribe, watch and support this film. Your love and support means so much to us and everyone who made this story a reality. “The platform further added, “At ZEE5, we firmly support Satluj and the creative vision behind it. We believe in the power of powerful storytelling to inspire and endure. We remain committed to championing authentic and meaningful narratives.”The streamer also confirmed, “Given the current developments, ‘Satluj’ will not be released in India until further notice. We remain committed to exploring all appropriate avenues through due process to bring the film back to our audiences at the earliest. Our commitment to the creators and telling stories with conviction, artistic integrity and purpose remains unwavering.”Directed by Honey Trehan, “Satluj” is based on the life of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra, known for documenting alleged illegal disappearances and secret cremations in Punjab.
