actor and director Prithviraj Sukumaran Sharing an exciting update for fans of the “Lucifer” series, starring Mohanlal lead.While promoting his upcoming film No One, the actor confirmed that a third installment in the blockbuster franchise is in the works.In an interview with The Cue Studio, Prithviraj revealed that the makers always wanted L2: Empuraan to be the middle chapter of a larger story.“When we made ‘Lucifer,’ we weren’t sure if the story would carry over into the second or third film. But when we made ‘Empuraan,’ we were confident that the trilogy would be completed in the third film,” he said.

Murali Gopy Already Ready for StoryL3

Prithviraj also revealed that screenwriter Murali Gopy has conceptualized the story for the next chapter. According to the actor, the team deliberately crafted Empuraan in a way that it would flow naturally into the ending.He explained that the creative team had a clear roadmap for completing the trilogy. “Murali has a clear idea for the story of part three and he’s shared it with me and he’s very excited about it and we want to do it,” the “Khalifa” actor said.

Busy lineup may delay ‘L3’

While Prithviraj confirmed that L3 was underway, he admitted that scheduling the project would be a challenge. The actor currently pulls double duty as an actor and a film producer.Apart from “I, Nobody”, he has several other big projects including “Varanasi” with SS Rajamouli and Mahesh Babu and “Odiyan: The Age of Illusion” directed by Rahul Sadasivan.Prithviraj said finding a suitable production window for L3 may take time due to a busy schedule.

During the promotions of “I, Nobody”, Prithviraj also spoke passionately about his co-star Parvathy Thiruvothu. The film is another collaboration between the two actors after their critically acclaimed films like “Ennu Ninte Moideen” and “Koode”.In an interview with Galatta Plus, Prithviraj praised Parvathy’s understanding of filmmaking. He said her perspective extends beyond the performances and into the overall quality of the project.“Parvathy is a very smart actor. I don’t mean just her acting. I don’t think she is judged by how much she does in the script. She knows when a script has the potential to be a great movie, and she knows that by being a part of it, she can make it even better,” he shared.Prithviraj also believes that Parvathy has the creative instinct to become a filmmaker. “I’ve known her for a long time and I truly believe she will be a great director one day because she understands cinema to this level,” Prithviraj said.“I, No One” is directed by Nisam Basheer and stars Prithviraj and Parvathy Thiruvothu. It is scheduled to be released in theaters on July 9.
