Netflix’s recently released police drama “Kartavya” stars Saif Ali KhanAudiences were introduced to Yudhvir Ahlawat, who won praise for his portrayal of the teenage character Harpal. While many viewers thought Udwell was a teenager in real life, he is actually 33 years old. The actor has now revealed that even Saif Ali Khan initially believed he was much younger.Udwell shared the overwhelming response to his performance. “It feels great. People keep messaging me saying they love my work. This is the day I’ve been waiting for. I keep replying to everyone in my DMs,” he told Kadak in an interview. Recalling how he got the role, Udvir said the opportunity came from casting director Mukesh Chhabra’s team. Having previously worked with Red Chillies Entertainment, he was asked to audition for the role of Harpal.“This is my second time working with Red Chillies and it was a great experience. I got a call from Mukesh Chhabra’s team that they were casting for a film called Kartavya and wanted to test me for the role of Harpal. I auditioned and after one or two auditions, they told me that I was doing well. In a way, I got the role too.The actor also said that his youthful appearance has earned him a lot of compliments, especially from female fans.“Many of them told me I looked young and called me cute,” he shared.Udvir further revealed that Saif Ali Khan made a remark during an interview that unexpectedly went viral. According to him, the actor chose Harpal as one of his favorite characters in the film and admitted that he thought Udvir was actually a teenager.“Mr Saif was asked in an interview about his favorite scene in the film. He started praising me and said, ‘Harpal is very nice. I treated him like a 16-year-old. But then Pulkit sir (the director) told him that I was actually 33 years old. He was shocked.’ The video went viral,” he recalled.He added that Saif was not the only one fooled by his appearance. Udvir said that most of the cast and crew initially thought he was a child actor until director Pulkit clarified his true age.“Initially, everyone treated me as a child artist. Later, Pulkit sir told everyone that I was actually 33 years old. After that, like Sanjay Mishra sir and others, people started treating me like other adult actors,” he said.Yudhvir Ahlawat makes his film debut with Saand Ki Aankh Taapsi Pannu and Bhumi Pednekar. He later appeared in “Shamshera” with Ranbir Kapoor and “Love Hotel” with Bobby Deol and Vikrant Massey.
