The film is Ravi Mohan’s 34th film as a lead actor and has the strong support of producer Sundar Arumugam. Sam CS composed the music, and audio rights to the film were recently acquired. Kannada superstar Yash’s much-anticipated pan-India action film Toxic is slated to release on August 26, two days after Kalatai Babu is set to open a high-profile box-office clash. Despite stiff competition, the announcement of the release date has further raised expectations among fans eager to watch Ravi Mohan play a politically driven character.
Ganesh K. Babu promises an emotional political drama
Director Ganesh K. Babu says “Karasi Babu” transcends the usual political thriller template. According to him, while many films explore political figures and power struggles, few focus on the personal lives, emotions and relationships of public representatives. He revealed that the story revolves around the little-known side of a legislator, blending politics with powerful emotional moments. The film casts Davi Jewal, the daughter of former Tamil Nadu police chief Shankar Jewal, as the female lead. Veteran actors KS Ravikumar, Nassar and Sakthi Vasu also play pivotal roles.

Apart from the lead cast, “Karathey Babu” also stars VTV Ganesh, Subramaniam Siva, Kavithalaya Krishnan, Pradeep Antony, Raja Rani Pandian, Sri Dhanya, Sandeep Raviraj, Anandhi, Sindhu Priya, Ajith Ghosh, Kalki Raja, Knife Naren and several others in important roles. The script is co-written by Rathna Kumar and Baakiyam Shankar and the action direction is by Dileep Subbarayan.
